Hi, I’m Jahnabi Das, Founder and Designer of Jahnabi Lifestyle Studio.

I was born in Assam, in the arms of the mighty Brahmaputra, where weaving and craft are part of everyday life. I grew up seeing women around me weave, create, and wear their own textiles — an experience that quietly shaped my love for fashion and craft.

After graduating in Fashion Design, I moved to Kolkata. I spent 8+ years working at a Fashion house and in luxury retail, which taught me about branding and retail strategies, consumerism, and the business of fashion.

But my roots kept drawing me back to the crafts I grew up with.

Jahnabi Lifestyle Studio was born from that connection.

The name Jahnabi, another name for the Ganga, reflects what I believe the brand should be — rooted in its origin, yet constantly evolving.

Today, I translate the textile traditions and craft stories of East and Northeast India into contemporary clothing and lifestyle products designed for everyday life. My aim is not simply to preserve craft, but to help it find a place in the lives of today's consumers.

Our Journey

Jahnabi has been featured and introduced by platforms including LBB, Amazon, Indulge and The Telegraph, and has received recognition for innovation from Blindwink and Red FM.

These milestones have strengthened my belief that regional craft can have a much larger place in contemporary fashion and lifestyle.

Where We Are Going

Our long-term vision is to take Jahnabi Lifestyle from the Northeast to the world — building a contemporary, craft-led lifestyle brand rooted in India's rich textile heritage.
